85000 people standing ovation - the story of a legend

Paolo Maldini

25 years for a single club

Although I was moving from a place to another, and having no internet I wasn't able to see the game of my favorite club, AC Milan, but still, YouTube is our friend and you can see in the second video the game and the final two minutes, when Maldini says goodbye to the football pitch.

He is 40, and he retires, nothing new for a player that age, but is new (for our football-era anyway) is that he played 25 years for the same club as a professional, at the highest level and also before that he played at the youth teams of the same club for another 6. So, if my math is right he played 31 years for the same team.... And that is something that says it all. So why am I still babbling, because this is my way of saying Thank You and Goodbye to a truly amazing player and personality of the football pitch and of this world.

Bellow you have his Honours - there are teams in this world that don't have so many as he does
